Jane and Ken Hickman are a partnership whose business has been in existence since 1986. The business is craft-based and all work originates from their workshop in Herefordshire. Jane’s unique technique involves creating a painting or design on fine cotton using water-based dyes and a wax resist (batik). Her designs are mostly floral but she also uses landscape and fruit as motifs in her paintings. As well as original paintings there are ranges of prints, greetings cards and scarves. The latest addition to Jane Hickman’s work is a range of woollen shawls with floral motifs.
