Naturally Dry demonstrates that it is possible to have a beautiful garden during times of drought, something that the South East of England is currently experiencing. The design interprets elements of a Cumbrian landscape, home to and inspiration for the poet Wordsworth and a region where rain is plentiful, for the South East’s drier climate.
Veolia Water recognises that a high proportion of their customers invest time and money in achieving a beautiful garden and so this garden is designed to demonstrate ideas and offer information on sustainable gardening. The ideas on display here, such as drought-tolerant planting and making good use of natural resources like the old well head that is being used to capture rainwater, could be recreated easily at home.
