Every Picture Tells a Story
This display of plants from the Bromeliaceae family includes Aechmea, Billbergia, Neoregelia, Vriesea among others, showing the variation in size from 60cm down to 3cm. The display demonstrates how these plants grow in their natural habitat, placed on branches of trees at different heights to show that Tillandsia plants are not the only genus in the Bromeliaceae family that do not require their root systems to take up water and nutrients. The root system is primarily used by the plant to hold onto branches and in some situations onto rocks. The display is complemented by associated tropical plants.
