This exhibit includes roses planted in beds and roses as cut flowers. All roses are home-produced at the Harkness nursery in Hitchin, Herts, and all the cultivars on display are repeat flowering; with a few exceptions, they are original Harkness introductions, raised on the nursery.
The display demonstrates the effectiveness of roses planted in small groups, in a scale and space that is realistic for any home garden, showing how to make the most of roses in a modern setting. It has been designed to show how roses can be integrated within a garden.
