Celebrate – Land of Beauty
2012 marks Jamaica’s 50th year of independence and their display commemorates this important anniversary. Oncidium, dendrobium and aranthera orchids depict fireworks. Jamaica was known as the land of wood and water, so a water feature represents the island’s rivers, streams and falls. A structure covered with dried palm features a display of fruit. Key plants in this colourful celebration include anthuriums, heliconias, Alpinia purpurata, zingibers, strelitzias and foliage such as dracaena palms, aralia and monstera.
