For 2012 the Kelways display plays host to the usual glorious blaze of peonies and irises, but there are also a few surprises in the form of some new visitors to this year’s show!
Paeonia lactiflora ’Salmon Dream’ is, in Dave Root’s words, “simply the best of the best”, costing around £400 per plant, a price that is justified due to the labour-intensive work of dividing the plants over several years. The plant is a semi double in a deep salmon pink shade. Deep red double-formed Paeonia ‘Many Happy Returns’ is a cultivar that is making its Chelsea debut this year.
