The Fruit Garden Displayed
The idea behind this exhibit is to demonstrate how fruit can be grown by training in all sorts of environments. Examples include the use of large, pleached trees that act as screens, fan-trained and espalier trees to cover walls and fences, cordons and U cordons to edge paths, and miniature and terrace fruits to grow on patios and terraces in the smallest of spaces. Alongside the trees, companion planting highlights ways to encourage pollinating insects and discourage pests, and also gives colour to the display.
