Educational plant courses & plant tours

The Plant School offers educational plant courses running one day a month through the academic year (September to June). Students do not need any prior knowledge and use the courses to broaden their understanding of plant identification, understand how plants grow and how they interact with their surroundings. Tours are organised to see plants growing in the wild and in gardens in the Mediterranean region and South Africa. Lecturers on all courses are professional plantsmen who are keen to share their knowledge of plants, and botanists familiar with the local areas accompany students on the plant tours. Rosemary Campbell-Preston, school director of courses, is keen to encourage all students with their plant knowledge - she is present on all the lecture days and accompanies all the plant tours.
