This year for the first time, Chelsea show visitors with smartphones will be able to get a host of digital information on the show gardens as they view them.
On the signage of each one is a QR code (Quick Response code) that links to the relevant garden page on the RHS website.
Visitors simply need the appropriate apps on their smartphones or iPads to be able to scan the codes.
Giant QR code
To celebrate this digital advance, Jade Goto and Shelley Mosco’s QR Code Garden uses the technology as a theme. It features a QR code planted wall created from a simple colour palette which, when scanned, will take visitors to the RHS website for further information about the garden.
The pair will also be planting another QR Code planted wall at the entrance to the RHS Environment feature of the show. This, when scanned, offers further information about the Environment exhibits as well as practical advice on urban greening.
