The Mindfulness Garden

The Mindfulness Garden is both an art installation and a garden, contrasting chaos and calm.  There is a random sensory bombardment of planting colour, but from a seat in one corner you can look through a long polished stainless steel tube under the garden mound to an inspirational spiral carved verse.

The garden is inspired by the chaotic, unsure times we live in, highlighting the need to focus.  Martin Cook has also taken inspiration from the contrast between a Jackson Pollock splash painting and Barbara Hepworth’s clean sculpture in creating his design.

This garden has been created in association with Merchant Taylors’ School, Old Merchant Taylors’ Society, The Merchant Taylors’ Company, Informa Plc and Bohun Gallery.
