This cottage-style front garden features topiary pines, one of the owner’s main interests. A cloud-clipped specimen in a container adds shape, form and texture to the design and contrasts with the loose, flowing planting. The garden is eye-catching from the roadside and has kerb appeal.
Inspiration for the stone rill water feature came from Rousham. The recent restoration of Chatsworth inspired the gold leaf gilding on the sandstone obelisks that punctuate the corners of the borders.
The focal point of the garden is an intricate wall-mounted sculpture celebrating 100 years of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The sculpture contrasts with the rendered wall backdrop.
