This simple, reflective garden displays two the influences of hemispheres: Eastern-influenced planting on the Words side, and a Western influence on the Memories side. There are no formal boundaries so that everyone feels that they are a part of the design, and all are welcome to place Words & Memories of their own in the garden.
The transition from one hemisphere to the other is mysterious. The garden is surrounded by 300 forget-me-nots to represent the 300 troops who rode into battle in the Charge of the Light Brigade in the Crimea. There are more significant plants and numbers in this garden, which tells its own story.
