The Nectar Café!
This small urban wildlife garden has been created by The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales. Many Trust members live in Cardiff and Swansea and have small terraced gardens, so this garden has been designed to show that even a small outdoor space can be wildlife-friendly.
A balanced selection of plants has been used to attract insects into the garden. Welsh gardens are rich in wildlife and so they are an important natural resource, both now and for the future.
This urban wildlife haven features bird boxes, willow butterflies, a nectar café, insect hotels and a beehive and that’s just for starters! Hands-on activities including insect box making are taking place throughout the show. Visit the big bug hotel to learn how to make your very own insect home.
