Up-cycle
This garden is made almost entirely from waste materials and has been designed to demonstrate creative ways of up-cycling reclaimed and recycled materials, in particular wooden shipping pallets.
Victoria and Andrew have been inspired to create a garden that connects the viewer with the everyday materials around them. The design demonstrates how objects can be re-purposed to create something that is both beautiful and useful, hopefully inspiring visitors to think about potential new uses for objects rather than throwing them away.
The focal point is a pavilion constructed from sanded and treated recycled timber pallets and crates, with a green roof. It offers a cosy retreat within the garden and provides shelter from the wild Welsh weather. Wooden decks float over the naturalistic planting and a planted pallet wall provides a backdrop.
