Urban Oasis
Many urban areas are more grey than green, yet good quality parks and community gardens make places better to live in. Wales isn’t short of dramatic landscapes – but it’s those pockets of green outside our front doors in towns and cities that make the difference.
Based on real, innovative community gardens, this exhibit has people at its heart. An experiment station connects us to the elements. Different Welsh habitats are represented: grasslands, wetlands and the woodland floor, with places to sit amongst them. Woodcrafts also feature, made by volunteers from Groundwork Merthyr and Rhondda Cynon Taff, where the garden will be relocated after the show.
The Urban Oasis campaign asks you to stand up for great green spaces wherever you live, and to get involved wherever you can.
