Bangkok is encircled by a labyrinth of klongs (canals) alive with communities afloat the Chao Phraya River. The klongs are a tranquil part of the city, a place to experience traditional, modest and contented ways of Thai life. They are a playground for children, home to bustling floating markets and a peaceful place to rest in waterfront salas (outdoor living spaces).

This garden represents a typical Bangkok riverside home. The plants surrounding the sala are an inspiring blend of natural landscape, towering tropical trees to provide welcome shade, aromatic herbs grown for home cooking and scented flowers to add character and colour.
