What’s cooking at Hampton

This year the Cookery Theatre - part of the ever-popular Growing Tastes experience – is home to top British chefs, and an abundance of specialist fruit and vegetable growers, who will deliver a series of talks and demonstrations on how to create wholesome dishes from home-grown produce.
Highlights include:
Head chefs Paul Welburn and Darrel Wilde from TV chef Gary Rhodes’ award-winning restaurant, Rhodes W1
- ‘Queen of Herbs’ and winner of 62 RHS Gold Medals for her organic herb displays, Jekka McVicar, shows how to Transform a Meal Into a Feast With Herbs
- Gardening author Kathy Brown advises on Cooking with Edible Flowers, promoting a host of inspirational floral/foodie possibilities, from petal to plate
- Chair of the Herb Society, Sue Minter, questions the ethics behind medicinal herbs in To Crop or Not to Crop – How Ethical are Medicinal Herbs Collected from the Wild? Sue also has designed the ‘Crops for Health’ garden, which demonstrates the variety of crops that can be grown for health benefits in various areas of medicine
Whatever your taste, this year’s Hampton Court Palace Flower Show will provide help and advice so you can grow your own and bring a taste of the good life into your home.

The Growing Tastes marquee will feature a feast of produce from beans and peas to speciality chillies and ‘elephant’ garlic. Experts will be on hand to give cooks and gardeners alike, valuable information on growing their own fruit and vegetables and visitors will be able to take home what they need to get started.
