Victorian Violas
Specialises in: Hardy perennial violas in weathered terracotta bowls
Some cultivars in this display date back to the Victorian era, together with newer cultivars raised on the nursery. Each individual cultivar is displayed to highlight their varied growth habit: some produce lax horizontal growth suitable for urns, tubs and containers, others produce fuller searching growth that particularly suits mixed plantings in the herbaceous border or cottage garden. Others produce upright firm and erect stems, some are delightfully scented so are choice selections for cutting and small pots. Species types are ideal for natural areas where they can be left to spread and re-seed at their will.
