Grow your own

Grow your own

Find out all you need to know about growing your own fruit and veg.

7-8 October 2014, RHS Lindley Hall, Westminster

Admiring autumn harvests

See, taste and buy mouth-watering produce at the RHS London Harvest Festival Show, a foodie feast celebrating the taste of autumn. Some of the best growers in the UK will exhibit their bounty in the RHS Fruit & Vegetable Competition. The show is the perfect place to get ideas and inspiration on late summer gardening and growing fruit and vegetables.

Celebrate with us at the RHS London Harvest Festival Late, which will take place in the Lindley Hall on 7 October from 6pm to 9pm, and will feature fun with fruit and vegetables, as well as natural food and drink from organic producers to taste and try.

2013 Highlights included:

Talks and demonstrations

The topics included foraging and vegetable growing.

Check out a timetable of what was on and when on both days.

A chance to show off your fruit and veg

Anyone can enter the RHS Autumn Fruit and Vegetable Competition, with more than 130 classes, including grapes, apples, pears and vegetables - from beans to turnips. Why not try your luck next year? Contact georginabarter@rhs.org.uk for a schedule.

Pumpkin paradise

Visitors were amazed by the giant pumpkin competition and displays of pumpkins grown by schools in the RHS Campaign for School Gardening.

Apple indentification

Want to find out the identity of your fruit tree? The RHS Garden Wisley fruit, vegetable and herb team were at the Horticultural Halls to display and sell their produce - and impart knowledge on all that is apple-related.

There was also a chance to taste apples from RHS Garden Wisley's fantastic selection, which is a great way of deciding which cultivar to grow in your garden.
