This conceptual garden takes you on a visual and spiritual journey through the Lake District. The design illustrates aspects of the region, including its native flora, geology and strata layers, topography and of course the lakes themselves.
Grass mounds represent the mountains, black steel troughs of water reflect the sky and depict the lakes, and a dry stone wall snakes its way through the garden, crumbling in places as walls do in the fells. Native plants are scattered amongst these symbolic elements, growing wild in the different micro-climates that are represented here.
