2010 is Girlguiding UK’s centenary year. This modern cottage garden is a place where groups can gather together in surroundings that are full of guiding symbols, including an oak owl and a trefoil seating area.

A true community effort, the design and planting ideas came from Girlguiding Cheshire Border members, from Rainbows to the Trefoil Guild, with many plants sourced and grown by volunteers. The planting is both ornamental and productive and includes flowers, herbs and soft fruit interspersed with the bright pink Centenary (‘Koreledas’) rose.

Bold, bright and vivacious, the garden incorporates elements of the past but looks forward towards the future.
