This garden has been inspired by the West Pennine Moors and represents a small section of this diverse landscape. The functional design would suit any town or city garden.
The contrasting planting scheme features a variety of colours, textures and heights and includes silver birch underplanted with heathers, ferns and bilberry bushes. The curving path leads to a timber bridge that crosses a stream; the water brings sound and movement to the garden.
The seating area at the back is a modern take on a grouse butt, with curved walls for protection from the elements and cantilevered seating to provide a clean, comfortable and relaxing space.
