Space Ritual is a horticultural installation comprising a 17m circular mandala configuration containing three abstract, cartoon-like, jewel-encrusted landscapes presented inside steel chambers. At the centre of the mandala is a Victorian planthouse. Set in a sea of anthracite, performers emerge from the planthouse to carry out ritual performances.

Each one of the artificial landforms is an artistic expression of Tony’s meditative experiences in three of his favourite UK landscapes – Formby Beach near Southport (where he grew up), Tintagel in Cornwall and the Jurassic Coast in Dorset. Each of the three sculpted forms is colonised by local flora. These are personalised contemplative landscapes.
