Facing today’s challenge of urban greening, RHS National Young Designer of the Year Daniela Coray 's garden has been designed as a subtle response, embedding many solutions within a beautifully designed space.
With a focus on providing a respite for urban dwellers, the garden is a green oasis amongst the surrounding grey. It references the rural idyll of an orchard with its traditional grid layout of apple trees underplanted with wildflowers and perennials. The planting promotes interaction with the garden through the inclusion of plants with foraging properties, illustrating the ability for urban green spaces to be both aesthetically pleasing and useful.
As an engaging and restorative place, this garden provides the escape we so often need in our hectic lives.
