The garden is based on the work of the abstract painter Ben Nicholson, in particular his white relief paintings. It uses geometric shapes such as the circle, here cut out of the back wall, and the shape of the featured tree, Acer globosum.

The colour palette is also inspired by Nicholson. The garden is a space in which to relax and take time out. The green wall and the main planting are focused on sustainability. Within the timber standing walls there is a water feature that adds light from the reflections in the water. The use of white decking is also based on Nicholson’s wooden reliefs.
