In the Yado Garden you can see how an underused urban back yard can be transformed into a contemporary space of tranquillity and beauty on just a small budget using mainly reclaimed materials. The in-situ timber and steel furniture uses little space and creates an area for relaxing and entertaining while leaving room for sumptuous planting and a water feature that doubles as a rain harvester.
Tall black bamboo and colourful acers add height, increasing the size of the enclosure and enhancing the sense of tranquillity. Bold foliage plants mixed with deep red flowering plants fill the ground level and raised beds.
