Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council focuses on swimming. Blues of annuals Lobelia and Ageratum represent an Olympic swimming pool with a diving-board at the end to create authenticity.

Scotland: Home of Golf
Celebrating Scotland as the home of golf, Dumfries and Galloway Council uses green bedding for the different swards of lawn on a golf course. Heather foliage and pines represent the rough grass, while fine, green foliage represents the golf greens. A dabbling stream of Ageratum flows nearby.

Surfing Jersey
Parish of St Helier Parks Department, Jersey presents the adrenaline sport of surfing. Topiary surfers ride the Ageratum waves that are set behind sand dunes of yellow-flowering Sedum, Echeveria and hare's tail grass Lagurus.

The Long Jumper
Darlington Borough Council have created a sand-pit of yellow marigolds as the centre-piece of Olympic track event, the long-jump. A surrounding track of red marigolds completes the athletics sporting arena.

Lancaster City Council shows off a clever display of two cyclists, from York and Lancaster, riding in opposing directions from the same cycle frame; a play on the two 'War of the Roses' adversaries. Topiary cyclists ride atop a colourful flowerbed.
