A Taste of Ness
A Taste of Ness represents the design of the new Making Waves Garden built this year at Ness Botanic Gardens. Ness was created by Arthur Bulley back in 1897, and 2012 marks the 50th anniversary of The Friends Of Ness, who funded the new garden there.
This show garden includes the three elements that Bulley wanted at Ness: water, sandstone and slopes. The water is represented by a central pond, surrounded by a decked path that leads to a second seating area with sandstone paving. The slopes are represented by the giant turf wave.
Planting is a key factor in any garden and is central to Ness Botanic Gardens. Here the planting sweeps around the plot, featuring bold colours and attractive flowers.
