Growing Together is a horticultural representation of the work of the Family Refugee Support Project. Features include raised beds, a sandstone wall and a view of Liverpool’s skyline, taken from the project’s new garden in Toxteth. Flowing, brightly coloured lines symbolise families and the process of healing through horticulture. The garden reflects project themes such as moving from isolation into community, multiculturalism, and combining beauty and functionality. Families grow together and regain their strength through therapy and horticulture, putting down new roots.

Inspiration came from seeing what is usually obscured from view: the lives of families seeking asylum, who are working to transform a little-known site in the middle of Toxteth into a haven of peace.
