Nature Squared
An evocation of natural habitats is explored through classical proportions, bound together in this geometric design. Clipped vertical structures and eco-niche features recognise our responsibilities to biodiversity and co-existence with wildlife, while rich herbaceous planting provides vibrant colour to attract pollinating insects.
The garden demonstrates that, in a peri-urban setting and with commercially available cultivated varieties, it is possible to attract and encourage native wildlife by providing a mosaic of habitat niches without sacrificing contemporary aesthetics. Historically-inspired themes of nature 'tamed' are reinterpreted and updated to reflect nature contained but uninhibited.
