Reflections
The title Reflections has a dual meaning for this garden. First, the surface of the water reflects the plants, bringing another dimension to the water feature. Second, the pond and surrounding area offer a place to sit and reflect, while the sight and sound of water create a relaxing and soothing environment in which to unwind.
The planting is informal and ornamental. The garden incorporates aquatic planting within and around the water, including a reed bed for filtration. Marsh and bog-loving plants give way to perennials and structural shrubs and trees. Having an element of water in any garden encourages wildlife, from small mammals stopping for a drink on a hot evening, to insects that pollinate plants and flowers.
