Students from Clusius College, Netherlands have designed the Second Chance garden, built from materials and plants that have been thrown away. The willow is the main element in this woodland-inspired garden, which features hand-made willow fences, a pollarded willow and a hollow willow trunk filled with ferns.

Sustainable elements include the path of rubber mulch chips, walls constructed from wine bottles and slanted gutters used as a zigzag waterfall. Sustainable chestnut wood has been used for the bridge, willow fence and roof. Natural woodland plants combine with old-fashioned vegetables, and the living roof is covered with grass, sedum and herbs.
