The Bombe
The Bombe is a tribute to the life of Alan Turing and has been inspired by his life and achievements.
The design is based on ciphers and code-breaking and includes hidden meanings and messages. The planting reflects Turing’s work in mathematical biology and interest in Fibonacci phyllotaxis. The sculptural features represent computer design, and the apple tree bears the fruit associated with his untimely death in 1954.
