This display celebrates the best of late-summer flowering herbaceous perennials and grasses, including heleniums, sanguisorbas, eryngiums, deschampsias, stipas and repeat-flowering geraniums. The plant combinations echo the late summer borders at Bluebell Cottage Gardens, open to the public until the end of September. Topping off the display is a crown sculpture made by local artist Christine Wilcox-Baker, who also made the King Canute sculpture on the Cheshire Garden’s Trust show garden. Does it celebrate the Diamond Jubilee, or does the crown belong to King Canute’s Queen? You choose! The gorgeous metallic fabrics used in the display are supplied by The Mesh Company, based in Warrington.
