Susan Long is a leading fabric sculptor using this still relatively unknown but very effective technique... Sculpture with a wonderfully graceful form draped in flowing fabric having an individuality and presence all of their own evoke the graphics of fashion designers. In 2012 her new style of sculpture has a streamlined silhouette full of movement and vitality. Susan’s bespoke, intriguing sculptures are created by combining individually hand sculpted, sometimes recycled structures with wet, resin-soaked fabric which is used as a fluid and flexible skin which dries to a hard, frost resistant, subtly sensuous and tactile finish.
