Great ideas to take home from the show

A visit to RHS Flower Show Tatton Park inspired dozens of creative ideas. Here's some advice on themes to try from this year's show.

  • Containers

    Raise the level

Raised beds can look good in any garden and are a great place to grow fruit and veg. They’re a good idea for children so they can take ownership of their own piece of garden, and are also convenient for the elderly and less mobile. For ideas see Growing Together, Metamorphosis and the Care Home Garden.

    Wildflower dreams

Whatever size your garden, there’s an opportunity for a small wildflower patch. You can set aside an area of lawn or part of a border or even a large container on the patio. Making a Splash and One Man Went to Mow both show wildflower meadows on a small scale.
