QAm I allowed to display a joint exhibit?

A

A joint exhibit is one allocated space from which two or more separate companies exhibit or trade. Each one of these companies must complete individual application forms whilst making clear the wish to combine their exhibits. Permission for combining an exhibit will be made at the allocation stage by the Show Manager. Joint exhibits may only be staged provided that prior permission from the Show Manager has been obtained.

QDo I need insurance to exhibit at an RHS show?

A

QDo we have to pay for space if we are applying for a garden?

A

At all of our RHS shows, garden space is given free of charge. The RHS want to ensure all of the investment put directly into the garden is working to create the best possible garden.

QHow do I apply for a garden?

A

Details of how to obtain an application pack, with all of the information you need to apply can be found within the apply for space section. You will need to submit a design and concept to the RHS which will be reviewed by the selection panel by a set date indicated in the paperwork. The selection panel is made up of experienced & professional designers, contractors and plantsmen who will assess your design, ask for further information for the second stage if needed and will then allocate space as appropriate.

QHow do I find a sponsor to help fund a project at one of the RHS shows?

A

Unfortunately this task is very much up to the exhibitor to pursue themselves. Please contact the relevant show team via exhibitorapplications@rhs.org.uk for advice and sponsorship material.

QHow do I get selected to exhibit within one of the floral marquees at an RHS show?

A

The selection process for the floral marquees takes place as a process across all the shows. There are a series of selection meetings to allocate the best floral exhibitors for each show. The selection is done across all shows to ensure exhibitors are allocated a fair number of shows in accordance with the following: past medal history & awards, support for RHS shows/partner nurseries, encouragement of new exhibitors to the RHS, sales service/visitor relationship/behaviour on site, reliability, observance of regulations, geographical factors/regional relevance. Also taken into consideration is: awards from other shows, unusual or special plants, balance of/number of applicants in each plant group, quality of sales material, environmentally friendly growing practices.

QIf I am allocated as an exhibitor in a floral marquee can I sell from my exhibit at all RHS shows?

A

You are encouraged to sell plant material in the floral marquees at all RHS shows except at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, where we encourage exhibitors to have facility to take orders. All of the RHS shows have tight regulations regarding selling so please make sure you are fully informed of all the regulations before you apply. You are allocated a site in accordance to the details submitted at application stage.

QI have no experience exhibiting at an RHS show. Would I be able to apply and which show should I apply for?

A

We actively encourage new exhibitors. However, the most relevant show to apply for would depend on your experience and show you are interested in. All of the RHS shows have their different personalities and target markets. It is worth doing research into all of the shows via the shows and events web pages and sponsorship pages on the RHS website, to ensure you are applying to the one most relevant and for the show that will achieve the most for you.

QMay I take more than one stand at any one show?

A

We encourage as much diversity as possible at any one show, and have a duty to ensure equal opportunities to all exhibitors, therefore duplications of exhibits are generally avoided. However we will be happy to consider more than one exhibit from any one company or organisation at a particular show, on the provision that the exhibits are sufficiently diverse and compliment the show editorially.

QMy services and products are not relevant to horticulture. Can I exhibit at your show?

A

If you wish to exhibit in your own right (as a nursery, tradestand, plant specialist, etc) then we would normally require your exhibit to be relevant to horticulture, that is to say there should be a demonstrable relevance to plants, gardens or gardening. However, if you wish to create a horticultural feature to promote your company (e.g. a Show Garden) then there is no restriction on who makes the application and your company or organisation does not have to be relevant to horticulture. Alternatively, at some shows there may be specialist marquees and areas where non-horticultural exhibits are featured.
