Celebrating Cheshire’s Year of Gardens 08
Exhibitor: Cheshire’s Year of Gardens 08
Designer: Chris Beardshaw
Contractor: Jes Oughton Landscapes, Peter Dowle Plants & Gardens
Cheshire’s diverse natural landscape and rich variety of public gardens inspired celebrity designer Chris Beardshaw in the creation of this commission for Cheshire’s Year of Gardens ’08.
The garden incorporates a variety of elements from some of Cheshire’s finest gardens, including the herbaceous borders of Arley Hall and the pioneering plant collections of Ness Gardens.
The garden also showcases Chris' own design concepts, and the wide borders progress from blues and violets to fiery hot reds and oranges, which fool the eye into thinking the borders are much longer then they are.
This garden nestles with four other gardens designed and built by some of Cheshire’s finest gardeners from Ness Botanical Gardens, Arley Hall and Gardens, Chester Zoological Gardens and Tatton Park.
