A floral celebration that spans the globe

The joy of spring continued in Westerminster this week with the third RHS London Flower Show of 2003. Once again exhibitors from around the country came to inspire the gardening public who attended this show. The exhibits ranged from tiny hepaticas and spring-flowering bulbs to giant tree ferns such as Dicksonia antarctica.

Primula You and Me RedThere was a first showing of a new strain of hose-in-hose primulas - the You and Me Series by Three Counties Nurseries from Dorset, as well as the first daffodil competition of this season along with exhibits of trees, shrubs and cut flowers.

 

 

The judges awarded three Gold Medals

Part of the display from Burncoose NurseriesThe first was for an exhibit of trees and shurbs by Burncoose Nurseries from Cornwall. The second for Trevena Cross Nurseries' display of South African plants and the third for Dibleys display of begonias and gesneriads all of which helped to make this a most memorable show.
