RHS London October Flower Show
The October London Flower show was a feast of autumn colour which filled both the Lawrence and the Lindley halls. Exhibitors from all over the country gathered to show that autumn has well and truly arrived in the horticultural world. In what could be described as a difficult year for growing, it was a delight to see such an array of healthy, well grown plants.
This was a show to interest all visitors. Along with the usual floral exhibits, there was a competition of vegetables that could only be described as superb. There was a competition of ornamental cut flowers, and also an exhibition of plant photography by some of the countries leading photographers, as well as the results of the RHS photography competition.
Finally there was a competition of fruit that would delight anybody. The centrepiece being an exhibit of more than 200 cultivars of apples staged by the fruit department from RHS Garden Wisley. This truly was a great autumn show and the judges awarded seven Gold Medals.
The next RHS London Flower Show will run on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 November.
