RHS October London Flower Show

Autumn brilliance

Report & images: Tim Sandall

The RHS October London Flower Show was held in the Lawrence and the Lindley halls in Westminster and yet again provided an exciting display for any visitor to the show. As well as the usual floral exhibits - which ranged from all types of plant material including fruit and vegetables - the show also contained a whole number of individual competitions, including carnations, bonsai, vegetables, apples and grapes.

Also on display were the results of the RHS Photographic Competition, as well as a separate photographic competition which contained some beautiful images. RHS Garden Wisley also staged two exhibits - one of fruit cultivars and the Trials Department staged an exhibit of peppers.

This show was a real feast to the eyes and a glorious start to the autumn season. The judges awarded four Gold Medals to the nursery stands but every exhibitor to this show was a winner.
