2008 RHS Britain in Bloom Winner: Village

 

Earsdon received a Gold Award

 

The judges found it an absolute pleasure to visit this lovely village, where community spirit leaks from every pore; the tour allowed the judges to meet virtually everyone, and there was no doubt of their commitment. The mixed floral and sustainable planting of verge and communal areas in the village combined with absolute cleanliness throughout due to ongoing maintenance by the ‘Bloomers’ showed a remarkable community effort. We were also most impressed by how they have engaged with the local authority. An outstanding Bloom effort, showing what the Bloom is about in every respect.
