If you are part of a smaller community or a few individuals just starting to sow the seeds for a cleaner, greener local environment, then the Britain in Bloom Neighbourhood Awards are for you. You don’t even need to know anything about gardening!
While entries are not judged against each other, they are visited by Britain in Bloom experts who provide valuable feedback and helpful advice on how to develop and encourage on-going improvements. Each entry is then presented with an Award of Improvement, Merit or Outstanding Achievement.
People entering the Awards have reported safer communities, making friends with neighbours they never knew, turning around 'grot spots', transforming rundown areas and creating new and wonderful spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Your first step to getting started is to download the Neighbourhood Awards starter pack, identify your region or nation and contact your local co-ordinator. You will receive information about activities in your area and how you can start to transform your neighbourhood.
Be inspired to get started by looking at some real life stories of Neighbourhood Awards groups who transformed their areas and discovered a true community spirit in their neighbourhood.
