The search is on for Britain's best flower bed
It’s show time for Britain’s flower beds as The Royal Horticultural Society, Ball Colegrave and Britain in Bloom team up to launch a search for the best of British bedding.
Have you got the best flower bed?
Anyone working on flower beds around the country can enter this new competition. You might be part of a community group, local authority, school, college or university. Sorry, but this competition is not open to individuals.
To enter, simply send in photographs of your flower bed taken between 1 July and 31 August 2008 when the plants are in their prime.
Beds should be seasonal summer displays located in publicly visible spaces. The winning bed will be selected for its community enhancement, planting skill and innovative design.
Competition categories
There are three categories:
- Community Groups such as citizens groups, In Bloom groups, youth groups
- Local authority
- School/college
Win a chance to create a display at the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park in 2009!
Britain’s Best Flower Bed will be announced in September 2008 and the winner will get the chance to go head to head with the big names in bedding with a place at the RHS/Ball Colegrave National Flower Bed Competition at the prestigious RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park 2009.
