This garden demonstrates how a wide variety of fruit can be grown in a small, modern front garden without compromising the aesthetic appearance of the space.
Trained fruit trees are used in various forms throughout the garden to provide structure. The trees are shaped by a method used by gardeners for centuries to provide interest during the winter months.
The espalier trees create a natural boundary, while Ballerina fruit trees act as focal points in pots on the paved area. Lingonberries are used to provide a formal, low box-like hedge alongside the paved area, with strawberries in the central bed. Sadolin wood care products are used on the wooden house front, front door and raised planters in various colours to enhance the contemporary feel of the garden. The garden is symmetrical, with granite paving laid from the entrance to the front door.
The stained glass windows positioned either side of the front door also depict fruit trees to continue the theme. A contemporary water feature sundial provides a main focal point in the central bed. Lighting in the garden is both functional and dramatic.
