The focal point in this garden is a shade structure, which symbolises a flower capturing water to store and irrigate the garden when required. The design team considered climate change when building this garden and the importance of capturing water to irrigate the garden.
The design is based on a simple circle with radiating lines. The shade structure has coloured Perspex walls and a bench. There are also living art panels of vertical planting of sempervivums with clever lighting and changing textures. A rill encompasses the hard landscaped seating area. This aims to be a simple, chic design.
The planting in this garden combines strong architectural shapes with changing textures and colour injection. The colour palette is a blend of pale subtle pinks through to rich, bold raspberry and plum with a hint of orange.
