Reflective Height is based on a concept design by Chloe Salt; it is a simple design based on fluidity and movement.
This garden is designed to instil a feeling of well-being and seclusion. There are imposing ‘sails’ within the garden that reflect light and cut UV levels by up to 40%. Parquet-style, grey sandstone flooring also reflects light and gives the garden a contemporary feel. The seating and the fire pit are simple and ergonomic and one of the garden designer’s, Jeremy Salt, warns visitors to watch out for the novel drinks cooler.
The planting in Reflective Height relies on grasses for structure and there are ferns and shade lovers at the rear of the garden. The front of the garden has naturalistic planting following a mauve - plum red colour theme.
Henley Salt has specific expertise in the healthcare sector. As landscape consultants to the Kings Fund, the team has worked on a number of pioneering hospital gardens throughout the UK. Reflective Height has been designed to be used in one of Henley Salt’s many hospital gardens.
In the capacity of designer, contractor or project manager, Reflective Height will be Jeremy’s 20th garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
