Saveurs de France conveys the spirit of French life. The garden designer, Jane Dickins, originally sketched this garden on a table napkin, over a glass of wine at a restaurant in Arras.
Jane says that in this design it has been her intention to distil the essence of many a French town or village. Part of the broad trottoir (pavement) is often enclosed with extravagantly planted Versailles tubs and trellis either for private use or for a restaurant or café.
The planting is in a range of pinks to deep purple with dashes of vibrant yellows and startling vermilions. Key plants are lavender, fuchsia and pelargonium.
This is Jane's first exhibit at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
