Hibiscus & anthuriums
The team from Mauritius, which includes a plants person, garden owner, garden centre owner, a nursery manager, an architect and an engineer, has exhibited at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show three times.
Mauritius - RHS Members has two separate exhibits that are staged back to back. Many hibiscus cultivars are included in this display. The backdrop of the exhibit is made up of silvery green and purplish leaves of palm trees.
The greatest challenge facing the Mauritius - RHS Members in the lead up to the show is transporting the hibiscus from Mauritius to the UK. Hibiscus flower buds are brittle and each flower only lasts one to two days, they are also very sensitive to climate change.
Sadly, the hibiscus were damaged in transit and so weren't featured on the stand.

NAFAS

NAFAS - Floral arrangements
The Sussex Area of the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies is staging this year’s large floral exhibit. With the title, More Than Meets the Eye, the design is based around an oriental water garden. It is influenced by today’s multi-cultural approach to gardening and floral art. The design team has taken elements from both Eastern and Western garden design and have incorporated other styles that are prevalent in today’s flower and garden design. The exhibit encourages you to walk around and discover the fusion between the different elements. The design team have used a wide variety of plant material to interpret an East/West atmosphere.

Plants in colour themes
Inspired by the colour wheel, this exhibit displays plants of similar colours in small garden scents.
Three times as many plants were grown than required for the exhibit so that the exhibitor could choose the best plants. Notcutts Garden Centres has a dedicated show department housed in a large glasshouse, which is zoned into three temperatures.
