Robert Myers, designer of the Cadogan Estates garden
A Cadogan Garden is a peaceful space with cool planting, palm trees and geometric clipped box. Designer Robert Myers is as calm as the space he has created.
“I come to Chelsea because it’s a really fun thing to do. I build a garden in three weeks and make it as real as any garden. Everyone works to create a real garden. Various bits of this garden will have a life after Chelsea on the Cadogan Estate.
“I think the show is brilliant. The standard of gardens is very high. There are a huge variety of gardens and planting styles with some very interesting things. A lot of designers have actually excavated down into the ground - we haven’t we’ve gone up. People seem to have moved away from wild flower meadows and now it seems to be more about texture and foliage.
“This garden has very simple planting on the walls and it gets more detailed as you come down to ground level. It’s a bit like creating a woodland garden but in a more stylised setting.”
